Massai dance Massai warriors have an archaic way of dancing.They do not use drums and other percussion instruments performed with hands,but sing in choruses which culminate in incredibly high jumps.They jump off the ground,as if a natural spring under their feet pushed them up.At the peak of every jump,they seem to hang in mind-air ,before returning to the ground,only to spring up again.There is,for those watching ,an almost transcendental feeling that they will soon be taken up into they sky.
Women,especially girls,join in the dances but do not jump like the men they wear broad necklaces which they rock like fans by shaking their shoulders in rhythm with the beat
